using a roland mc 303 as a sound module

my MPC is the center aof my setup and I just decided to use am mc 303 as a sound module, can any one, if any one , tell me what they know of using the 303 an a module and the advantages and disadvantages.

i use to use an MC303 in my aresonal. just sold it two weeks ago, it was prtty good, the way i used it was as a sound genarator you plug it in to your mpc and control the sounds that way. there are 127 sounds, did a few tracks with it , but i had to get rid of it becuase i didnt have a manual for it and i didnt want to take the time to learn it ,much rather spend the time on the mpc it is more of an instrument (the mpc).

theres some good sounds in it tho, i was using it to make house tracks but you can make hiphop, r&b, techno, D-n-B, let me know maybe i can give you a hand on some thing i knew a little bit about it.

that shit dont make sense, thats like me buying an mpc2000 as a main sampler then buying an mpc1000 as a module. lol

they are both samplers with no built in sound so why use two machines? if u want a sound module then buy a unit that has built in sounds becos the 303 has none.

Actualy, the MC 303 is not a sampler and does have "built in" sounds.

you can out the unit in sound module mode. it looses all functionality and only the master volume knob works. u have to use cc# and all that other shit to get into the nitty gritty. the sounds are pure cheese. theres a sound font out there. just rip that ish up. the 808 & 909 are all i used on it.

anyhow aint the mc303 for techno?

timbaland ,the neptunes, rocwilder eric serman and redman still use it. it just lacks a useful amount of memory as a stand alone machine and not to mention it only has sterio outs so bouncing tracks can be a headache.
