hey everybody i got two questions

1. when is it a good idea timestrech i am using magix cleaning software for that and when i strech should i be speeding-up or slowing-down i know this depends on the sample but what do you do if you do it at all (IF THATS CONFUSING MY BAD)

2. HOW DO I get make beats break down constantly YOU KNOW THE WAY
LUDA'S BLOW IT OUT YOUR ASS DOES? is that one sequence or multiple? this has beeen driving me nuts because i've tried everything i think of anyway

1. Timestretching after chopping might be a good idea. Depends on the sample I guess.

2. Don't know exactly what you mean, sorry. One breakdown technique is recording a 4-bar loop into your DAW, then chopping it half and playing it two times, then chopping the halves in half and playing them 4 times.

that might be it but is there a way to do in mpc itself? bcuz i don have a daw but thanks

WHAT could you be a lil more specific

its actually not difficult to do on the mpc 1000


1) resample your whole sequence
2) put the resulting sample on a new pad, and make it "note off" in the sound-preferences
3) now you can play your whole sequence, make it stutter etc...
4) record a new pattern, play the fomerly recorded sequence once, then play it only half (remember, the sound just plays as long as you want it to play), quarter, etc, until you get very small particles of sound at the end of the track...
probably you have to do somefinetuning in the stepediting screen..

you can get the same effect on the MPC2KXL(and the 1000 as well i think) if you copy the same pattern a few times, and change the patternlength and time sig a few times (reduce one step)..then play those patterns on after another..
