Your Thoughts on the ASR 10??

i would think u would need a fan blowing away from the asr so the hot air is gettin sucked out..

part of the beauty of the ASR design is that area in the top right corner of the keyboard. That area is aluminum and was designed like a heat sink. If you blow a small amount of air over that area, it sucks the heat out from the rest of the keyboard... If you don't believe me, try it out. To be honest with you I was surprised, it worked better than I anticipated. The temperature drops across the the whole instrument. If you are not using a fan, the total amount of heat you will be able to draw out is related to the temperature difference between the keyboard and the room. If your room is above 80 deg F then you will have some heat problems with your ASR.

Back to the original couple of posts on this topic. I saw two ASR keyboards on ebay going for over $900 with NO SCSI. Haha suckas be trippin!!!!!! Everyone must haveread the Kanye article in Scratch.

I have both the asr-10 and asr-x pro. Both of them have there attributes. I put more use in my ASR-X Pro and MPC 60 II setup. The ASR-X Pro is easy to use as a scratch pad and there are simple tricks to getting a lo fi sound that sounds great. The X was my first sampler and never let me down when I needed it. The EXP-3 soundcard I have installed in it is (priceless). I keep my ASR-10 not just because of the superb sampling sound produced off the bat, but I got the blue lcd, expanded 16meg, with 6 output expansion option, and scsi/ digital I/O and case with the latest O.S. upgrade. I haven't used it much, but will commit some more time to it. I know peeps would think, he has all that and doesn't use it? I made a lot of extra ends while in the service deployed (past tense). So I took the opportunity to collect samplers. Why? Because I'd like to have the opportunity to open up my own studio and have the available eqiupment to artist's who use it. ...That and I'm a gear whore.
