ASR X PRO or ASR 10 Which SOUNDS Better???

Which sounds Better The ASR X PRO or the ASR 10

im pretty sure they the same exact engine. Dont u got a bunch of gear allready? why not just use what u got homie.

I used to have a red ASR X Pro. I still have my ASR10. They are the exact same machine except the ASR X Pro is a drum machine version with alot of newer menus and features. The sound is the same. There both ASR's.

It can also resample from withins itself just like the ASR10 can. The effects are taken right from the ASR10. It can build a sound from scratch according to what parameters and tweaks you set up beforehand. Afterwards your created sound will become a wav and further editable. If you can get past the ectha-sketch interface and hard azz pads it's really a dam good machine to have. I'm thinking about getting my little brother one.

Yup. Gear lust is dangerous. There's no real rationale behind it either.

i had the asr-x pro (red box) too. damn that was one of my first pieces of equipment. i miss that joint. the sampler on it was off the hook. took 66mb of ram. you had enough sampling time, plus all the filters you needed. but damn...that sequencer was whack. i wish i kept it. but that was like 6 years ago. i could have kept it as a sampler and sequenced it thru the mpc....oh well.

I had an old ASR-X (black). The sequencer more or less rendered it useless for me, so I traded it for a nord rack 2.

The FX on both units come from the same DP4 FX unit Ensoniq made legendary. ... SAME FX

The sampling engine is totally DIFFERENT. The ASR-X is based on the MR series sampling engine. The ASR-X has more features than the ASR-10...it is a newer machine after all. With the ASR-X you can install sound roms from the MR series samplers. The urban dance card is amazing!! and is long sought after. I personally think the samplers sound a bit different.

the asr x does not have more deatures than the asr 10. The asr 10 is way more advanced. the asrx is like a dumbed down version os asr 10.
