For those who have the ASR10 keyboard and use the MPC as the midi controller:

Do any of ya'll have a specific method or way of assigning your drums on the ASR? What works best for you? Does it matter at all? Do any of you guys use some sort of standard mapping?

When I sample drums, I would sequentially assign each key a drum hit and just hope to have a kick, snare, hat close together when using the pads of the MPC. The problem is, all my drum kits are not the same....so if I try to switch up my drums on the MPC, all the mappings are different.

I use my mpc for drums and my asr for samples. Why would you use the asr for drums? they sound so dirty, I love the clean sound of the mpc on drums, but at times its too clean.

But no, sorry I dont have the answer for you, other then finding out which pad's activitate which keys manually.

I have a blank program I load up on the MPC with the 16 pads corresponding to the first 16 keys of the ASR. I don't use it much because I'm lazy and I just do my drums in the MPC, but it sounds much better to sample them in the ASR and trigger them from the MPC pads. IMO.
