Hi ya'll,

I was listening to Missy and Tim's Under Construction and really enjoying the break on Track #6: Funky Fresh Dressed. That old school Miami Bass bass sound. Anyone here know how to make that happen? Slow attack? Reverse bass sounds?

Thanks much!

Do what Tim did and sample "Paul Revere".

It's just a 808 kit reversed.

That's funny, you really think that is sampled from the Beastie Boys? But now that you mention it they do sound pretty similar. Thanks for the tip, I'll try reversing an 808 kick sound.

i never heard that either, miami bass started from planet rock ,which came from freestyle and latin freestyle which then came from luke of 2live crew it's basiclly a 808 drumkit
take an 808 kik and filter it till you get what your listening for.

808's that pricey now?

I tend to see them go for about 600-900. Unless it is really mint.
