Removing a snare from a sample

Hey ya'll, what do you guys do to remove a snare from a sample with out just straight cutting it out? EQ it out? Usually I can work around this kind of thing but I've got a situation where I'd like to take it out.

Check out the link below for an example of what I mean. It's from Araabmuzik, his sample doesn't sound cut up but it's clearly missing the snare from the original sample... any ideas?

yup. also try out chopping right before the snare and adjusting your attack settings.

IMO he didn't use the version of the song thats posted on whosampled. There has to be either a acapella version, a extended version with an acapella part or a skit on the single release. Or he got the original multitracks.
The version of whosampled got kicks snares and guitar and araabmusics sample got none of these instruments in it. You can get rid of some snares etc by the techniques mentioned by Anton and chronic but not in the quality the araab sample is.

yea that youtube clip is not the same thing he sampled

you can replace drum sounds with sidechain compression too tho, i do this a lot (but wont sound as clean as the example you posted)

if i dont like the snare in a break for example, ill set up a new snare, and sidechain compress it to the break and every time i hit the snare it cuts out the break, so if i hit it at the same time as their snare it will cut it out
