I'm not sure I understand exactly what your asking, but you do not need to necessarily resample into the sp if you want the effects. Sp models have an external source button that allows you to add effects to any input source as it is playing through the sp.

And you can change the pre-delay and reverb on the sp's,

to utilize the fx, say i wanted a reverb on a snare hit, you would set it all up to play that then record it with the fx in your mpc (this is essentially what resampling is?) then say you wanted a delay on your hi hat, you would pull that up on the sp, send it to your hihat track, and resample it there with the effect on it destructively correct?

my other question is more about tracking/mixing in to a DAW.

say i wanted a reverb on my snare in a track i was mixing, i set the sp up to go to the inputs of my interface, set the aux track up in my daw, so then when my snare hits, i can hear the reverb coming out of my sp and effecting my snare. this way i wouldnt have to use the itb effects, and i could essentially use the sp as an outboard fx unit. then i would record the reverb/delay/effect as audio on its aux track via my daw.

so pretty much what im asking is can the sp be used as an outboard processor such as a reverb or delay unit.

also, does it give you the option to make the signal 100% wet, so all you hear is the effect, not the source (snare, kick ect.) mixed with the effect.

i have an sp 303 man, and i was using it as an "fx unit", strictly because i would rather layer all my sounds on the mpc and the 303's fx are sick.

i havent used a daw in a while, so what i would do is run my mpc into my mixer while applying an effect on 303 (reverb, delay ,etc.) and sample the wet signal into the sp 303 and then sample back into the mpc (resampling)....this way you get the desired effect that you want, but instead of it being an "itb reverb", the reverb will be from the sp303.

and yes you should be able to control how much of the effected wet signal you hear back (100%, 50%, etc.)

I will make a video explaining how I do this so its less confusing

also ark, could you shed some light on the cancel/remain psudeo mute group thing if you know about it, or if it even works on the 303?? it might just be a 404 thing.
