I was wondering if anyone know how to filter a sample so that I can remove the original drums or whatever I don't want from it. The filter in the MPC just muffles the sound.

you will never be able to filter the drums out and keep just the melody or filter the melody and keep the vocals... listen to bravo and post these simple questions in the newbie forum...

play your drums over the drums that's already there, like Havoc did on "It's mine" with the scarface loop...

Not if you do it correctly. There's plenty of tracks out that have drums still in the sample. It's not that hard to get your drums to line up with the sample. Just turn off the quantization and bang it out until they fit right.

is that how these producer do it?like blaze and kanye?cus im thinkin about coppin a filter module to filter ish out so can do sumthin with them?

theres plenty of space on records that only play the music. check the beginning and end of songs. there's plenty of tracks with space. but like they said drop some drums over it. it'll sound pretty tight
