Very long time lurker :smoker:

I have never really seen down tempo talked about here and though it deserved sum attention.

It seems to be pretty straight forward formula, knocking drum break (slowed down 80-85 BPM) and a healthy sprinkle with vintage keys lol.

That being said I would love to hear from anyone with production tips, good down tempo artist, samples used…etc.

moody samples + pitched down drumbreaks basically...

The entire Underground Vibes album is dope

Some more of these (less moody though, but still pretty minimal): Hypoetical, Jesse Futerman, The Prunes, Kmotiv, Maker, Joe Beats, Hi-Hat Club series, Jon Kennedy
The Iron Horse from The Sound Defects is pretty good too. Album is made with the MPC60 and a S950.
If you're into the weird trip hop instrumental stuff, check Metaform. His Beats From The Crypt is dope
