Roland Fantom or Triton Rack

I would go with the Fantom or Motif. The Triton's sounds are kind of stale.
Look to the east for the coming of a BLACK KING!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Triton w/ a bunch of expansions and the Triton is hella tight cuz you have so many sounds, plus a ton of FX, but the Motif is kinda the same thing excpet newer and better so I would say Motif

I just wanna throw this out....
Either of those synths is fine. They are both very powerful. The sounds are actually limitless...that is if you are willing to dive in to the synth and actually program it. Most people use the presets and never tweak anything. Then, the get bored with the sounds and want a new machine. Ironically, they have never evben scratched the surface of what the machine can do.
That said, either one will be fine....relative to how easy they are to get around on. That's probably the most important issue. The user interface! If it is easy or a pain in the ass synth is probably thee most important concern, of course after the quality of the sounds. As for the Triton and Motif comparison, to my knowledge Yamaha owns Korg. So, the Motif was designed with knowledge of the Triton and that's why it appears to be quite different, offering other strengths that the Triton doesn't have.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

Yamaha is great for natural sounds, a little brittle
on the synths (think 80s).
Roland is has good tone, but very steep learning curve for
sound editing.
Triton is good, but too clean sounding for me. sounds are
played out, but thousands available to load into that thing.
If you like the roland, but don't need the sampler, you better off
with an XV-5080. Depends what you mainly wanna do with the thing too.
Most important is if you like operating the thing. Try em all out a few times at sam ash or guitar center,
see what feels right.
