Hey guys, thought it'd be cool to share how we chop our drums. I've seen so many different ways, all unique to one's workflow so I thought I'd share mine.
1. I usually get 2 bars to loop
2. Hit the chopshop, and adjust 16 equal slices.
3. I have two methods, the first being if I want to play out a rearranged pattern of the break, and second, is similar except i poly the program so I can play the samples as single shots.
a. I zoom up and get the chop as close as possible. I chop the break into 16 slices creating 1/8th note chops. ie (boom, ss, kk, ss-boom).
b. Same method as above, but I poly the sounds so I can play out single shot patterns.

a. For the rearranged chop, I sequence at the desired bpm and play around with the pitch of the program effecting the length of the chop to get the desired groove.
b. For the singleshot poly, I adjust swing to different hits to get the desired groove.
I want to hear how you guys chop your drums too, I know there are many threads, but if it were in one collective thread, thought it'd be beneficial to us all. Good looks MPCfam!
