Hi all,
Here is a technique/tip that you might like. I've been using my S2000 the last couple of days and found two things to really work well on the old sampler and I wanted to translate those to my mpc.
When sampling in the S-series, you can directly trigger your sample chromaticly with a keyboard. And because you can't see the wave on your display, you adjust start and endpoints by ear as you trigger the sample (trying out different pitches). I found that this gives a lot better results on percussive samples and melodysamples.
To emulate this on the 2500, what I tried is a little extra work but worth it, I think:
Record a sample, keep it, have a empty chromatic drum program loaded, assign sample to all pads, go to trim mode, hit programmode and adjust start- and endpoint trying out different pitches.
Oh, and keep your eyes closed, or at least not look at the wave on your screen.
