how many parts did you cut the drum break into? or did you just pitch it up a bit? did you use mutes on the break? it fits really nicely.
i have only made one beat with a break under it, so im trying to learn more about using full breaks and getting them to fit well like that.
when i used the full break, i had to use a lot of mutes, so i think it would be a lot more challenging with a 2000xl as it can only mute up to 3 other pads.
For this beat i just cut out the kick by itself and then stereo seperate the kick into two different mono samples and then layered these 2 kicks ontop of each other for a fat kick. This is a tutorial of how i did it

Depending on the break and how i want my drums i will cut the beginning of the drum break where the kick starts and cut it off one hi hat hit after the snare. But most of my sample chops for drum breaks i cut the kick out nby itself layer it, cut the one or 2 hi hats out of it and play the hi hats on note velocity to give it a natural feeling sound and not just a repititious sounding hi hat., and the snare by itself or 2 different snares and play them out hitting on twice and the second one once. hope this helps you...
