tracking out help

hi can anyone tell me the best way to track out my beats do i make a long sequence and let it play through one track at a time or do i do smaller seperate sequences i dont have trouble actually trackin out its just i dont know if i have to wait till every track plays out whats the best way to do it ?im usingonly one out so i have to mute seprrate tracks can someone send me in the right direction please sorry for the bad writing im on a cheap ipad and its messing up lol im using some reason sounds too on midi tracks i havefinished some beats tracked into cubase but i know if i plan better i can make them better thanks guys

If u r tracking into a computer daw, editing is ez, and if u r tracking 1 out at a time its prob a time saver to track small loops and edit on the daw. There's really no point in having w/e large amount of bars of a sound if it doesn't change. Now if ure tracking to a digital multitrack where editing may not b ez then long sequences.

Way back in the ADAT days, I had to get the mix right and I only tracked out the stereo mix and added variances live, as needed, just like adding vocals. (I do not mix those days.)

Over the years when I used hardware MPCs more. I tracked out each unique track of each sequence loop out to recording program, multitracked and edited from there. (This may be where you are and what may also fit into your workflow.)

Today, I use MPC Software and just export each track out to DAW. (Yes I am an old hardware MPC head that likes what I can do in software... Hey it works for me!)
