I use the Zoom H2 too. I like to go around to industrial areas and record all the lovely clanking sounds. Made some great drum kits from doing this.

I do strange processing with my samples. I tend to produce in the "future" hip hop genre. Old school beats and elements with some future type sounds ... which I get from sampling sounds on the H2.

If it's water samples and things like that I do a lot of effects processing on multiple channels. Creating different sounds from the one sample.

I think it all depends on what your sampling and what your trying to achieve because different samples will have different places in the mix, in terms of frequency.

Also, try running your samples through Paul Stretch. You get a lot of interesting results that can also be resampled. Also run through some synth effects, like Reactor FX.

I have no set routine, just mess about.
