Whoa!! Check out these needles!!!!!!

honestly, you probably be better of with AKG's or Sony's unless you listen to classical music all day, these are hi-fi sets, the bass response sucks, for bass heavy modern productions youll be disappointed. I went and heard them myself and wasnt at all impressed especially with the price. The hifi market is a really weird one, and alot of it is more style than substance...especially with characters buying 10k speaker wires and 50k amps to listen to music that was recorded with Hosa cables and trashy drums/casio's/untuned guitars...i dont get some of these catz. ...one headset ive got my eye on that is unbelievably comfortable and amzing sounding are the seinhezers HD600 <--dope

Man, these babies retail for $695... Treat them with care and get some replacement leads from a good hi-fi store. You'll have a pair of top-of-the-bill headphones to check your mix on.
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD600s for that purpose myself, and they're an absolute joy to listen to - so much detail it's unbelievable.

I disagree about your comment on the bass. I don't know about the higher level Grados (like the RS1, etc..) but I have the SR-60's and their bass response is somewhat overbearing at times (esp. when I use any type of bass enhancer, such as on most discmans). They're certainly not for use in public, since they leak sound crazily and you can hear everything going on around you. But for home use, you can't go wrong. Like a previous poster said, they are very accurate. It wasn't until I listened to some of Timbaland's beats using these that I realized that his kicks be having mad distortion. Funny thing was, when I first heard it, I thought that something was wrong with the phones. Then I listened to something else and the distortion wasn't there anymore.
