Regarding the Mbox. I know its the most inexpensive protools solution out there but I wanted to know if anyone can comment on its use, problems, etc.... Thinking about getting it but now sure what type of power it will add to my arsenal.

Thanks

well for starters your limited to only to inputs and two outputs i almost certain. what good is tht if you have an mpc with eight outs along with some synths. itisnt bad, but for your recording purpose you gotz to weigh out the pros and cons. to be honest your just buying the pro tools name. if you gotz the cash and you want pro tools then step to the 002r, if not dont sweat it, there are a whole loota other solutuons out there with the mbox range.
like the emu 1820, tht is a far waaaay better card than the p.t
you got light pipe adat at 24bit 192khzas well analog ins., and the big hype is tht it uses the same converters as the hd systems.

just bear in mind how many outputs and inputs you want simultaneously

Yeah... like he said its all about the recording.......Its more of a time consuming thing when you record your track into pro tools.....I have the mbox and it hasn't gave me any trouble or anything!....

if you got a analog rig and just need a system for stereo mixes and dropping vocals, the Mbox cant be fuced with.
