Hey,
1. Question:
I got a question about the sound design regarding samples. For example, do you guys use Plugins, Filters etc. to remove drum sounds for example.
If I want to use a sample which includes drums, I chop the pad to begin with the snare. Afterwards I layer the chop over the snare drum of the beat and with some eq'ing and filtering I try to let both Snares, sound like one.
In general, this works most of the time. But sometimes I listen to a beat, then to the sample of the beat. I noticed that some producers are able to nearly delete sounds they don't want from a sample. And it just sounds like the original sample, just without that one specific sound. In the most cases I noticed it with saxophone and flute samples
2. Question:
I tried to get a fat and wide sounding kick drum. Sometimes I sample my kick drum from vinyl but I also use some packs available on the internet. The last days, I really was into trying to get a nice and fat Kickdrum. I tried to use EQs and LP filters, played around with attack etc.. I never was statsified with the results. Maybe someone got a good Kick technique or a good drumkit he could recommend.
Thanks @all
