Play Sum Keyz

hey how many of u know how to"actually"play the keyboard?
or do u juss play by ear? i mean i know they keys (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) and i talked to sum people and they can play sum good melody's,any tips u all got?

i just taught myself. i play what sounds good. its not always the most melodical sounding stuff that im after anyway.

can u leave a link of ur alls composed stuff?

i can play a little. i never make keyboard beats though, i just practice. I know the keys, scales and basic chords but i aint ray charles.

People think I'm better than I am ...... I just record tricky things with the tempo really slow.

I learned by looking over peoples back actually I have played in
bands since 1975 and alot of cats played 3 and 4 different
instruments I played 3 at the time now it's 4.

I play classical pieces that I compose and it starts from C to G
then back to A it's a beautiful thing.

I play Paul McCartney songs and John Lennon tunes too
British Rock classic R&B.

I'm in a beginners piano class and music theory class right now so I'm learning. In almost two weeks now I've learned some pretty useful stuff. I would never make a synth only beat though. I HAVE to use samples. Maybe add a lil sumthin with the keyboard as I learn more though.

you name it, i played it

Rachminoff, chopin,debussy,list,schornburg,strauss,wanger etcc....

But honestly the only time i use standard chourd progessions when making beats is when im making a brige for a track. Most of the time i just layer sounds and chourds by ear.

playing the keys has helped me figure out melodies and chourds quickly though. If your just starting out on the piano make sure you learn hannon execrises. Those will help strengthen your fingers and allow u to play complicated melodies and chourds, instread of the "2 finger" ish that you hear today.

You can here some of my riffs in the beat latin sorrow that i have posted on my soundclick, but i have alot of beats where i just played a classical scale and put a drum and bassline to it "almost like a sample". If your intersted just let me know and i will post it

Also i another good thing I found is to is to sample your own riffs, i do that alot and flip my own ish. You can get that grity sounds yoursefl but just recording yourself playing chourds and chopping them and "dirtying" them up.
