I just discovered FutureMusic magazine...

Future Music used to be all hardware. It's always been a little goofy but recently it has become a total beginner's mag. And worse, it's now 99% software. Computer Music is a 100% beginner mag. Every issue is called something like "How to Make a Hit Record Today on Your Home PC!"
There is nothing more boring that reading about how to optimize Windows XP for audio work. I like to read about hardware. That's why I read TapeOp, Sound on Sound, and Mix.

Future Music was all about hardware, now it covers alot more software. Computer music WAS a good magazine until about issue 15 or so. It's very novice now. I swear to god!! how many times can you have a beginner's tutorial about selecting the right soundcard. They put that in every issue for a while. That magazine costs $12-$14 I don't want them wasting pages with begginer bullsh|t!!

I HAVE an FM from...........1998 ..............

and CM since Issue 1 and I Have Most of the Better Specials...............

FM used to have a two page spread every issue with a classic synth in it. That's what got me into it. I still pick it up from time to time, because it lasts a long time reading, Keyboard lasts me less than an hour most times.
