Finding additional sounds

This has always been my biggest problem, I'll find a a sample like a loop or somethin thats real ill, but my problem always is when i go through other records to find another sound to put in the track I can never find anythin that sounds good with it. I dunno if you guys got any tips or anything thatd be appreciated.

I'll usually dig around for some atmospheric sound that lies underneath the sample. It might not necessarily be music. Often times it really isn't the main thing you are hearing, it mainly adds feeling to the song or mood.

Are you sampling loops or are you creating your own with chopped up samples?

I tend to sample solos of say, a guitar or horn. Then chop it up by note & restructure it. I find this leaves a lot more room to add multiple samples as well as providing more space for your own creativity(you'll be less confined by the original piece of music).
