One of the programs I use it Cool Edit Pro 2.1. It's VERY good. Also many of my friends use Samplitude, it's nice also. I almost exclusively use Vegas Video 3.0 though.

yah, since you dont need to sequence on your pc I'd go w/ cep 2 as well, I use it and have a VERY similar rig as yours and I got 0 problems, what I like is tha cep is a top notch wave editor as well as a solid as a tank multitracker. Get a vst wrapper to use vst efx with cep 2 and your golden.

basically I sample into my mpc, and if I need to do wave editing i move them to my pc, edit and return to mpc via zip.
also, CEP is a ground up audio editor and its more stable then any program Ive ever used, I think maybe 1 crash and that was cuz I didnt lock the effects changes for some of my tracks and tried to do them "real time"
fyi, the BBC uses CEP for all their audio stuff.
PS MI-5 on A&E is perhaps the only cool BBC action show ever. peep it out the chica is mas fina.

I use a midi expander, you can daisy chain those ho's if you'd like. I would check out midi ox and midi yoke and focus on your software first.

In my old setup I would send mtc to my midi expander and everything was solid.

For under 200 you can score a Delta 410 which has 4 in and 10 outs.
Perfect for sampling

I use allot of multitrack software, Cubase SX, Acid, Project, and Live
are my favorites.

I use the midiman 3in 8out. That thing really helps out. I use Protools and sometime CubaseSx. It allows me to use which ever sequencer i want to control everything without switching around any wires. It is a must have.
