Making your Drums more Sound DYNAMIC!!

I need some advice about Making My drums Really stand out.

I Thought about Resampling,and I'll probably do that,what some thing That
Can make drums really Stand out??

how are you recording and what tools are you using for it ( signal processing, plugins , etc)
Am no expert but what seems to work for me involves 50% how I lay drums down and 50% how I do the mastering. Takes a while to achieve

just figuring out and experimenting with eq and compression techniques you like can get your drums soundin pretty dope.

I find studying other Producers Drums and it seem that Premo Consistantly
has the Loudest and Hardest Drums. I don't want the same sound as him
but I would tlike to get some Real Punch out of my Drums.

philly stress alot of these cats have engineers tweaking stuff for them premo's engineer is eddie sancho and he only works with him and dre works with one engineer in particular. these dudes arent doing everything by themselves. but im pretty sure u eq-ing and adding effects to your drums already, just keep doing what u doing and when u go into that realm of post production and have a bunch of people at your disposal you'll know how u want it to sound so it will be easier to give the orders but everybody is giving good advice, do u layer your drums as well?

Yeah,I know all about Ed Sancho. He Taught prem How to use the MPC 60.
Nevertheless I just want punch drum track that shouldn't be to hard to accomplish,right?? I Layer SOMETIMES mainly Kicks with 808 stabs, sometimes I'll layer the same snare a different pitches and different Filter
settings.

Cutting away unnecessary bass rumble using a high-pass filter will improve the definition of the drums. And if we're talking premo drums, it sounds like he's got quite alot of midrange in his kicks as well.

Lowering everything else in the mix willbring out the drums even more, especially if you apply a fair amount of compression/limiting on mixdown.

hasn't this been asked/answered ad nauseum on htis forum already- search the archives- its always worth it....you get the original replies from people who now cant be fecked to repeate themselves....

As an indication of how easy this is, look how often the question comes up. Not just in here, but any music related forum. So I guess the answer is: its certainly not 'easy'..

Be careful with layer as layer is often the actual cause of a weak drum track. Cutting drum sounds if more about what you don't put in rather then what you do.

I just did a search for a nice EQ practical demo that someone posted recently but could not find it. If it turns up ill forward back to this thread.
