1) When do use the Low End Theory?

2) What kind of samples do use it for (i.e. Drums, Flutes, etc.)?

Maybe this should be in the Newbie Forum...

yeah man. U use the "low end theory" on things that you want bassy. Like say u got a melody, like a sample that is 2 bars long. U make a copy of that and filter it and lay it behind a clean vers of the same sample. It helps to use sounds that have a low freq register. Like samples with a bassline in them allreayd. u can also filter out a copy of your drum pattern and lay it behind your drum pattern to make it knock harder. You just have to experiment. Dont ask these kinds of questions, just trial and error until u get what u are looking for.

I have some real ****** M-Audio monitors....they are too small. They have great mids and highs but horrible bass. What do you think about adding in a nice sub?

Get some new monitors. Their cheap these days. Alesis handles bass really well. IMO.
