My current setup is:

Midiman usb midisport 4x4
Reason 2.5
Battery 2
Mpc2000xl
Motif 6
Triton rack
Proteus 2000
Do a lot of producers track their midi on DAW or MPC? Sometimes when I'm recording midi into Cubase it locks up on me. I heard about midi loop can freeze up your DAW. Currently I have the midi in's and out's connected to the Midisport 4x4. Should I disconnect the midi-outs from the modules except for the mpc and the motif 6 (controller) to avoid the midi loop? When I have the mpc as slave to cubase I'm not able to use the note repeat button. When I try to use the button, the sample is not in sync with the pattern. I load all of my samples in battery and use the pads on the mpc. By not being able to use the note repeat button I end up not using my mpc that much. What would be the best way to use the Mpc? I notice that the mpc has a certain goove to it when using it as the master. I have been using cubase to track midi and I have access to all patches within the sound modules. It's real user friendly to see what patch you want right on the screen.
