I'm still practicing trying to sample drums and shop it up. Most drums got sounds over so I am looking for the break down and whatever i can do to manipulate it.

Most times I try to do the drums pretty much after I have gotten most of the key production done after that I say maybe 15 or 20mins

On the 1K, the EQ is only limited to 4-BAND, which I think is (sometimes) not enough to get really good sounding drums. The best thing to do is to sample a drum sound and load it into SoundForge or whatever editor you use, and edit it in there. It's fast and easy! 8)

I say it don't take me all that long,because when I'm building a track I can hear in my head what I want it to sound like.it's like a chef knowing what spices to use for that certain flavor he wants.he already knows how it's gonna tatse so he just add the mix and it's done.same here, I know what I want so I put it in the mix.
