MPC 2000XL Sampler vs. MPC 3000, MPC 60

Don't get me worng, I love my 2000XL but I rec'd sounds from a MPC3000 that my friend owned in wav format and all though they don't sound hollow, they definitely are missing something. It's like they have no bottom end. No presence.

When I heard them loaded on his 3000 it sounded awesome. When loaded into my 2000XL they sounded..well......flat.

Why is this so? Is there a way around this without resampling through a bunch of outboard gear? The EQ on my Mackie 1402VLZPRO just doesn't cut it.

Buy the Tutors drum kits, they make the 2000XL thump like a 3.

To get that good quality sound I process many of my samples on PC with Sound Forge/Sonic Foundry Batch Converter before they ever get loaded into the MPC. I use a batch converter and script most of the time.

:P :) I've had all these machines and this is my view

1. MPC2000XL (Amazing machine/great features/user friendly/good screen/ sounds Fat (with the right samples)

2.MPC3000 (Good build) old dated features/ does sound slightly ruff/ That sound can be eq'ed back into the sample. By the time your sh--s been mastered/compressed/eq'ed/ and whatever else who's gonna know!!!!!
