That Chillout Jeep Sound!!

hey hey now...the filter on the 3k is sick. You just gotta know how to use it. I use it in alot of my tracks and I don't even have to hit the micro korg for bass after I'm done with the 3k filter. It really just depends on the sample, and how you sampled the sample.

Yeah it's useful, but compare it to the w-30's filter and get back to me. It should redefine sick for you!

aight...never tried it. S950 got sicker filters than the 3k though..

Yo philly, I peeped your gear list..and I don't think you need anything else. No guitar bass, no new keyboards, no MFC42 filter ma jiggy's. Just work with what you got. Look at where my gear lust has got me. I got two mp's and don't know which one to keep. I should have just been satisfied with the 3k and kept it, but no I had to f with the 60. Now I'm stuck. How about you load up some of your beats and let us hear them and then we'll decide if you need more gear...

i never knew that the music u listed was "jeep" beats. i always wondered what style that was. I guess i make jeep beats then. A good thing i do with filtering is sample to takes of the same sample. One with beefed up lowend from your dj/studio mixer before the sampler. So u have one normal, and the other extra bassy, so when u filter more bass comes out. With a 3 or 4 band eq you can take out the highs a tad also before you sample so when u filter that shit comes out nice and fat.

the frostwave is sick- you need none of this but a frostwave will definitly give you a nice sound- get one and try not running all your sounds through it!!

you get res on the high pass meaning you can filter out the really low lows and then boost the cut off put for real fat bass which is tuned resonantly- ie the sweet spot is on every note...

but with your gear you should have a hard time trying to not make 'jeep' beats (im with binger never hear the term jeep beats- why jeep beats? you cant all drive toyotas!!)

yah i used to just use the same sample on 2 pads and apply high pass to one and low pass to the other.

But if you have two totally different recordings of the same sample you get wicked ass phasing

Jay Dee did alot of jeep beats on the 3000... He usually has a thick bass sound.

im probably just thinking jeep beats are classic hiphop beats....which i guess a lot of them are....
