I have the E-MU 1820M and I want to use the outputs to go into a Mackie 1604-vlz Pro so I can use the it to mix instead of the mouse in my sequencer.. Problem is my souncard (1820M) only has six 1/4 inch outputs. There are supporsed to be 20 outputs.

I assume the rest of the outputs need some type of ADAT connection to work,
but i only have seen preamps for input into my soundcard(M-Audio Octane).
Any ideas?

if the other outputs are adat then you need an adat to anaolgue convertor. behringer make one caled the ada8000 i think. basically you hook up your adat connection to it and out comes 8 analogue tracks/channels. you can use it the otherway as well i.e. 8 analogue inputs (it has mic pre amps or jack inputs) to adat out. soundonsound magazine gave it a good review.
