buying an damaged ADAT and use only the A/D converters??

hey guy´s!

a friend of me has some Alesis ADAT´s, with an Steinberg VSL Card. So he uses only the AD converters of it.

what do you think about it? he say´s the sounds better than most soundcard A/D converters.

so i thought about buying an damaged ADAT and connected it with an RME hammerfall i get soon.

If you're getting a Hammerfall, that's all you need. Don't mess up the signal with an ADAT, unless you want to add extra inputs and link it to the hammerfall through the ADAT Connection. RME convertors and inputs are way, way, way, way better than an ADATs. BTW, good choice on getting one.

The info from Old Vintage guy. He said the Alesis ADAT (Black Face) have great AD convet with the elco connect , even can comare with the new $1000 AD converter for 16BIT
