Lets make this simple, I hope. I like the feel of using the track mute screen to do drops in the beat weather it be for intro/outro purposes and its seems like when I put it into song mode and try to program intros and breaks it never comes out like I want it to sound. Is there a way I can put it in song mode so there are no drops no breaks no into or outro just say a 64 bar length song and let it play from start to finish but use the trackmute screen to do the intro and all that other stuff but actually record the track mutes that I was doing so I can play it back and track it out?

What about using the mixer automation, I have never really used that function either, any comments on mixer automation that might help?

slave another sequencer to the mpc. play all that stuff out while recording do your mutes etc, save that file as a midi and re import it. there no internal way other that using mixer automation. to turn off the sounds and not the midi tracks.

Well cool, I got 2 2000xls so all I gotta do is handshake the midi cords from my mpc to my buddys, hit play record, make sure I have the bar amount set to the length of the song mode amount and save the midi file on disk and then just load it up on the origanal mpc and press play? does that sound right?
