Easy People.

Is there anyway of sorting my tracks on my xl by instrument??

I tend to make my beats by starting with a rough drum pattern.

Track 1 - Hats
Track 2 - Snares
Track 3 - Bass Kicks
Track 4 - Samples

I then decide I want to add some extra bass kicks to the pattern on Track 5. Is there anyway I can tidy up my Track list by merging say Tracks 3 and 5 together?

Cheers.

You can copy and paste and instead of Replacing change it to Merge. Anyways why would u want to put tracks together? Its easier to mix when each instrument is individually. At least in my opinion.

Hmm....

On your main screen hit EDIT and scroll your option to MERGE.

Co-Sign. You got 64 tracks per sequence, why not use 'em?

Cheers for that.

Not sure why but its something I've always done. I tend to just keep adding on tracks when I'm making something. . I suppose its more for recording into my HD. It's just easier for me to have all my instruments on seperate tracks as I think about it. I can mute them and record one by one instead of having to bring the volume down.

You know what as I read this back I realise I'm lazier than I thought.

He's trying to put the same instruments on the same track...why have 2 tracks of bass kicks when they are the same bass kick???

@ VanFanel - When I'm happy with my idea I go back and add extra bass kicks or whatever sample I feel like to give the beat some life. Extra arrangements. I've only got the two outs so I want to make life easier for recording purposes. If I can merge my tracks I can seperate the instruments by track and delete whats not needed.

Well, it was never stated that its the same kick, so I didn't assume it's the same kick. As a matter of fact, how do you know its NOT a different kick?
