Time Spent

I can't imagine taking that much time laying down a beat.

I mean, after recording the vocals I get idas for the breakdowns and such, but MAN! I wish I had that much patience.

Perhaps broadcast quality would have been a better choice of words for a 4 minute piece...I mostly make music for commercials, software, and industrial use (training films etc..) ...I am lucky enough to get alot of airtime on 15, 30, and 60 second spots but they don't take nearly as long to put together because they rarely have to "evolve" like a full length song. As far as where - that tends to be up to the advertiser. Mostly local but some national... Every so often I get lucky and land a 30 min soundtrack. They also don't take as long as "songs" because there are large gaps and most of the music is pretty sparse...maybe 40 - 80 hours for a 30 minute piece like that...

Well spoken. You never want to be listening back to something thinking "I could have done that better." It's one thing if someone *else* could have done it better, but when you're putting work out representing you then you want to show the best of your abilities!
