Signed, Sealed And Delivered

Am kinda new to production and was wondering how ya´ll work on a beat before scouting it out to an emcee or whomever.

Do you work on a beat with all the elements finished or do you just work on the vital ones first and finish it off later once an emcee laces it?

I´ve heard of most producers just working on the basics like drumz, bass and maybe one or two other elements on it and then just letting the beat rest until they have the vocals on it before finishing it off.

Just wondering if a lot producers in here do the same.

I THINK THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE NEWBIE FORUM ,..but me prsonally try to get it sounding somewhat like i want it to sound sequencing samples song structure what not and then try to shop it out to an emcee to spit over it and i tell them i can make it more to what they need longer bars , shorter bars what ever.
