I drive for a living and I was wondering what software could I get for my laptop so I can still work on my music in my down time.(using only a laptop) thanks..

the ideal laptop studio is,

wavelab to sample, or soundforge
then ableton live 5.0 to use as a mixer and effects processor and timestretch
then recycle to chop up loops and get them ready for reason
then reason 3.0 to put it all together.

Just ableton Live will do, preferably together with a sample editor. Do get a good controller though. You NEED a good controller.
