I'm looking at getting this mainly because it has the 16 velocity sensitive pads, which would help me to get rid of my current setup of an MPC2000XL (which I use solely as a controller these days) and a Yamaha SY22. My only cause for concern is the lack of aftertouch on the keys. It does have aftertouch available, either through the pitch bend or mod wheel (whichever one is programmed to control aftertouch), but I wanted to know if anyone that has used the Kontrol 49 found this awkward.

Also, if anyone knows of another controller that has 16 velocity pads, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I think that's the best controller out, the only one with the pads. I'm getting the regular MicroKontrol, with my laptop. It's going to replace my soon to be sold Legacy Controller, MPC 4000, and Triton Extreme.
