eb16 card for the xl...realtime?

just wanted to know i would be able to affect the sample while it was playing or is it the same way the filter works in the params menu... u know how when u adjust the filter, u can only hear the difference once u play the sample over again....and would i be able to do it on stereo and mono samples? cuz i heard that u couldnt on stereo.... but i thought i read somehwere that you could, so i thought here would be the best place for the real answer....i been thinkin bout scoopin one up cuz i know now that if it is realtime, it'll bee a dope accesory to what i got and would be like the missing, peace...

yeah, realtime while you tweak effects ON the effects page.

but no realtime effects control from switches and knobs.

no assigning eb16 effects to the slider or outboard midi control sliders/faders/knobs.

how easy is it to do that....are we talkin like number values by rappidly pressin one of the f keys or the cursor ?

tweaking effects on the effects screens.

w/ data wheel and moving to a different parameter of the effect
w/ cursor.

rapid pressing, where'd you get that from. none of that.

ehh, the eq sucks but I still love the card.

better off using the eq on your mixer/outboard gear.

The EQ isn't bad, like most EQ's it for cutting freq more than boosting freq.
Once you get a good feel for the way it affects different things at different peaks and Q's you can make real good use of it for shaping you sounds.
You also have to void out the bands you aren't trying to use.
None of the effects are super, but depending on your understanding of effects and the time you are willing to take they are very useful in making the 2000 family MPC's sound come off as full and add presence.
To me it's a better choice than most lowend effects units people seem to want to use.
Something like a used DP sounds better but you loose the ease routing capability, but the 8-out card and the DP works pretty good.
With most external units you end up having to sample through it or re-sample through it to shape your sounds up, while the EB will allow you to shape your sound and tweak it easily as you construct the beat, or most cheaper units aren't really multi-effect so they can do seperate effects at the same time.
The EB is kinda like a pair of studio monitors you have to get to know it to use it properly.
Then again people complain about how bad the effects on the 4000 are.
In either case they are not dial in a preset, instant gratification type effects, you have to shape them up.
