Do you have Dynaudios? My homie just got a pair of those and they are amazing! It's far better than the nearfields that I have used (Event, Mackie, Genelec maybe)...Which model do you have? (NS10 excluded...)

Has anyone used those new Yamaha HS80M? How are those? They are pretty damn cheap...so my question is: do they sound cheap? I need to roll over to GC and peep those out.

That price range is high though...lol. I agree, I would take the Dynaudio tens over the Genelec ten inchers.

I went to GC and did side by sides with a bunch of $300/pair monitors and I went home and ordered the KRK RP5s from www.SameDayMusic.com that day. They give a slightly bass-oriented sound but once you know what your working with they're great. Highly Recommended. Especially now that they're down to $135 ea. I paid $150 ea. for 'em.

although its a moot point for this thread, just a warning to folks about the Event tr-8's.....which are a $300 monitor used...

They are pretty accurate, but can't handle high levels of bass. So although the sound is very strong in the mid/ upper range, you may run into problems if you like to mix louder than quiet on bassy songs.

I just tested the Yamaha HS80M and they are hard. they are natual sounding the KRK RP5 are too worm sounding.
