IMO it just depends on waht the track calls for. If you need a unique melody then you're just going to have to play that piece, ya dig. I would'nt limit myself to just using samples or just playing melodies. Adds to the diversity.

I myself go both ways though the majority of the time I use my modules. However, using my MPC only helps me in the creativity department. I practice as much as possible. Me and my MPC are still getting to know each other, she's always keeping secrets from me. But it's cool though cause when she feels like opening up to me she shows me a new way of getting busy! !
