I'm new - Help

my friend let me have his mpc 2000. but there was no software available. i got the boot disc is there anyway i can get some of the sounds on the cd-rom without going and buying  one. so far i am editing sounds using sound forge and loading them.

help!!

It's probably not worth going through much trouble to get sounds from the factory CD, they're ok, but not great (in my opinion.)
There are downloadable sounds on this site and others which would be a quick, easy, and cheap way of getting started and learning the machine.
...oh yeah, and download the manual!![/color]

werd, after spending an entire weekend trying out the sounds I agree, they aint bad, but they aint super.
some of the sounds are nice as a part of a layer (mainly kicks, some snares, hats and a rimshot or 2) but kinda weak themselves.
and some of them are terrrible, I do like the mpc 60 and 3000 sounds tho, kinda dark....[/color]

thanks. i also downloaded a zip with a lot of snd files from this site but i am having problems loading them in the pads. i went according to the manual then the manual opened a folder whereas i couldnt go no further. whats going wrong?[/color]

I'm pretty sure the 2000 doesn't support folders but the 2000XL does.  I could be wrong.[/color]

does anyone one know how to add sounds if the 2000 doesnt use folders? when i loaded the snd files onto the zip they automatically put themselves into folders.[/color]

couple more things

first. when i tap metronomes, every 8th one always sounds louder like a snare and i dont really want that to happen. how do i get rid of that.

secondly. how do i save as a wav file every time i try i get a midi option and snd.

thirdly. there are many times a double beat comes out when i tap the pad just once. is there something i can do to stop this or am i just a nervous wreck??!!!![/color]
