I was sitting down watching tv last night, reading up on cirucit bending, which is the new thing that I wanna try and mess with, basically to turn some of the older keyboards and gear I have into something useful when I happened onto an idea,
I have an old 3channel numark crap mixer, and I figured I could do the cirucit bending with it. (it would actually be easy since it already has pots and swithces, I'd just need to re-route them) I wanted to do it like this (its a 3 channel mixer) run channel 1 into channel 2 into channel 3 for 3 sepearate passes at bending the sound, then run sounds into it, with rca's and basically make the crap numark into a curcuit bend efx unit, basically creating distortion and the wierd curcuit bend sounds, only able to do so on an unlimited range of sounds, not just a speak and spell or a tiny keyboard.
I bet the Curcuit bent efx would sound mad uniqe, and after some compression would be cool, what I want to know is, (from someone who knows a little more then me about this) how easy would it be to do on a mixer, I fugire it would be easeier then anyhting else since there is no need to drill and add swithces and pots, cuz it already has them on it, Id just need to rereoute them, its been my xperience the hard part on bending is running the rotary-pots and the switches to control the sound, and attaching them to the unit, ne hooooo I'm gonna give it a shot, and I'll let peeps know, basically I hope to end up with a one of a kind, unique custom wired efx unit that'll do distortion and will also, curicut bend sounds, whaddyall think, am I wasting time I could be banging on my MPC?[/color]
