how to make something you sampled fit to a metronome.
first you have to loop the beat or phrase or whatever. loop it
till it sounds right, like 1 full bar, 2 full bars, 1/2 bar whatever.
if you have your mpc on 4/4 beat per measure, then you have 4 beats per one bar.
so once you loop your phrase you can set the number of beats and the mpc will tell you the tempo of the phrase. you can adjust the tuning to fit a certain tempo or on the 2000xl you can stretch the phrase to whatever tempo you want under the edit function i believe.
so then you set the mpc to the tempo of the phrase and either add another phrase on top or add drums or whatever.
you just have to listen to the sample and loop it right @ the right start and end points.
