What's up eh-body. I've been dreamin of getting an MPC for the longest, and I've just recently got a 2000. I know there's probably a lot of katz out there like me who could really use some game. I'm pretty dum to this, so I was wonderin if some of yall more experienced MPC users could lace us up with some tips etc...for the newbies. Yalls input is highly appreciated!!!!

there has been enough covered on this site to give you a huge head start, just browse the topics. if you have a specific question lets hear it. i will give you one piece of advice as a newbie though. buy some drum sounds off this site, ebay, whatever, it might be easier to learn how to program beats w/ drums off a disk than to sample your own w/ disappointing results.

Look at the Post at the Top of this forum. Also go through the back posts of Production Techs and MPC2000xl. You will find tons and tons of info in the back post. Learn about layering, ghost notes, step edit, timing, swing, 16 levels, simult mode, mutes, low end theory (when u filter out the highs in a sample and then are left with the low end which is then used for a bass line).Learn about Chopping. Zone MOde. How to loop samples. Learn bought ADSR Envelopes (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release). Learn about tracking with in the MPC. Putting sounds on seperate tracks. Track Mute, how to copy bars, note variation slider, hmmm... lots more. Just read up. And get a manual if you aint got one. I would read this before anything
