Possible Pre-Amp

This may seem to be a ridicuolos question but I was wondering if you are able to use your mixer as a pre-amp? I have a Korg D16 and was wondering if you could use it? Thanks in advance

It has two XLR connectors to connect a mic, but there's no phantom power.... if your mic needs phantom power (like most condenser microphones) it wont work.

Ok so no on the mic. But what about sound modules, I could run those through the D16? When I was visiting a studio, I saw one of the engineers take a cable and run it from the headphone jack on the mo'phatt to the pro tools counsel. I thought I would be able to do this on the D16. Although I don't know if it smart to run it from the phone jack. NE suggestions would be much appreciated. One

Hold on.....you can use some mic's, just no condensors. Use anything as long as it don't need phantom power. Something like a sm58 will not be a problem.
I'm no expert on microphones so i can't tell you what mic is a condensor or dynamic.
You an use any soundmodules or synths output with the D16.

I appreciate your help ieism. I don't think I was clear on what I was asking. I was wondering if you could use the D16 as a pre-amp. Run the sound modules into the D16 and then run the outs of the D16 into something like protools? But either way I definately appreciate the help so far.
