compressor teqs

anybody got any knowledge they care to drop on using a coompressor wisley? i read the manual for it and it has nada..thanks.
oh its a dbx 266xl if it matters.

yes, dont buy a cd that costs about two hundred dollars to tell you. With that said use your ears, and if you look on the internet you should find pre sets for vocals, kicks..... etc... for free, any way once you have that down you can tweak to your liking. go to hiphopproduction.com and they have a good page with tips on commpression. hope that helps.

Settings are different depending on what you compress.

I usually go for a fast attack setting for all sounds though. When compressing a sound and you're unsure of the ratio setting, start with a really low ratio and turn it up slowly until you find the sweet spot.

can i suggest you read tuors compression tutorials....also find the thread about pro techniques and tips...ron gives some tips on some cool things you can do with it....

its a cool compressor but you to spend time tweaking to get the best results...
