Sampling oldies

Madlib just did a new Blue Note Track... The Blue Notes Revisited LP just came out... It's got some house producers, some broken beat producers, some hip-hop producers, and just some electro producers on it... I copped it last week and it's a classic Remix album... It's got all the heavy hitters producin on it... Pick it up people.

Yeah, Kanye has a guy who plays keys, John Legend is him name...if thats the 1 yall talking bout...but with reel to reel the individual tracks would help a lot, but yeah kanye did just fine with sampling off the records, which i think made him better he got the chance to filter out the easier to manage reel to reel. Better to start off with records though (like we have a choice lol) that way if we ever have the opportunity to use reel to reel, we'll be able to do more.

whoever asked the original question, you have to know about the music from the past, but don't get caught up in soundin like kanye just do you and listen to old stuff so you can see what you might wanna sample...just be creative really, somethin will come to you and it will sound good if you take the time to bring out...
