Well this is what i do for kicks. most of the time i will have a beat already done before my artist and i work on the song, but if he has a verse done and of ideal of the kind of beat he looking for ill come up with a basic drum pattern on the mpc and then record it into nuendo. Since everything is midi up, ill then tell my artist to spit the verse next. Now i have his verse and a ruff draft hook and a drum pattern. Ill go take care of some business and when i come back ill add a melody to the same drum patter on the mpc, then record it to nuendo that already have a drum patter and vocals....in a couple of hours ill pretty much have the song already dont and all my artist has to do is finish up the rest of the song.
