Filtering samples

I was wondering whats the best way to filter record hiss without running your sound through a computer?

Low Pass Filter, without resonance,it'll suck out a bit of the punch though.

this might sound like a stupid question,,, but i dont know the answer, so here it is. Does low pass filter come factory on the mpc?

Do you mean get rid if the Hiss?

A good way to check where where certain frequencies lie is by boosting them to the max. You say you don't ant to put it through a computer - ok, do you have a mixing desk, or does your MPC have any EQ capabilities. If so try sweeping across different Hz with the gain on max and listen when for when the hiss is at it's loudest, then bring it back around that area. Hiss is inherintley full of frequencies right across the spectrum so it will be almost impossible to rid of it entirely however this may help.

Also how and what are you recording. Your leads could be giving you noise troubles.

First, EQ from the turntable mixer. 2nd, turn the filter in the MPC down to the desired level. If it's still there, learn to enjoy the sound of old vinyl.
