When I wish to move and arrange notes and events in a time line and mainly use sequence edit. Mostly when I want to make detail edits step edit is very famillar and easy to work with each event step by step. 
Also the sequence edit can do the same but I have to select the whole track to see all the events. I feel that going to step edit page is faster.
